What To Do When You Are A Psychopath

According to the Psychopathy Checklist-Revised (PCL-R) and Psychopathic Personality Inventory (PPI): Psychopath is a person who has no feeling for other people, does not think about the future, does not feel bad about anything they have done in the past, and more likely to commit violent criminal acts because of a mental illness that causes the person to lack any feelings of guilt.

If you consider yourself a psychopath, then you must be aware of your destructive attribution. However, as a psychopath, your pathological abnormalities mostly come from your biological predisposition. There is almost nothing you can do for it. What you can do is to flip your curses into blessings so that people will remember you as a life maker, not as a destroyer. You can achieve it in three mindful ways.

  • Take Control of Your Life:
As a psychopath, you have a mind that looks life in a negative spotlight and thinks everything with an evil point of view, including manipulating and controlling good humanistic qualities. And you do this only to win. Of course, you win and get what you want but after that? One fine morning your mask gets down and everything then vanishes. You again start searching for another good person who will make you happy. And it goes on and on endlessly.

As a psychotherapist, I can understand, how alert you need to be all the time throughout the process. First, in picking the target; second, in hiding your true self; third, on showing up fake love and concern; fourth, in manipulating and lying all the time to get someone working at your service. I can feel how cumbersome and painful your journey is. Unfortunately, it is a lot only to get a person to work for you.

If 'receiving love' is your main concern, it's hard to find someone who can love you truly (knowing your true self). You need to be lovable and genuinely respectful for that. So, it’s time to think, is this all worth it? Why are you doing so? What you are getting and what you are paying, after all? Remember, our thoughts, feelings, attitudes- all belong to us. We are our own master, to monitor our thoughts, to regulate our emotion and to establish our personality. Take control of your life, not others.

  • Accept Challenge:
If you are a psychopath, you must have some unique ability that you use to achieve your desired things. You have an inborn quality to read minds and to use it the way people appreciate. You use it thoughtfully to control and manipulate others emotion and resources. This helps you in attracting people in the first place. In spite of this talent of attracting people, you are unable to keep them forever. It's like, you are always empty despite earning continuously. Such a waste, as you put a lot of effort to achieve them. So you need some modification in your overall outlook which can be achieved by starting to follow a simple rule. Do all this that you anyway have a tendency to do, but without destruction. Show your capabilities where it requires (in business, negotiation, client service, where you will need it work-wise, for betterment) and set limitations in your impulses to avoid negative consequences. Accept challenge. Show yourself that you can be happy and make others also happy. People will soon like to be with you. This positiveness will change your whole outlook. Be different, stand out from the crowd of psychopaths.

  • Blend Well:
The first step to solving a problem is to accept it as it is. If you are a psychopath, take your identity as a matter of fact. Know yourself well, analyze yourself thoughtfully, and most importantly accept the reason why you need to act differently hiding your true self. Only hiding and faking will not solve your problem, you need to blend well. Avoid being alone, rather focus on being a part of a group. Observe people, learn norms, acting wise, and blend well. Soon you will comfortably habituate.
