Why We Need to Stand Up for Ourselves

Every time you are silent when you strongly need your support, by not standing for yourself, you are doing wrong. Yes, it is. It has harmful effects. It may ruin your self-concept, leading you towards inferiority and depression with times. Moreover, if you yourself are not ready to stand for yourself, then you merely expect any others to do the same for you. Tolerance is good, but not at the cost of your mind and body.

Effects on confidence:
You may not be able to stand for yourself due to two possible reasons. One, you have doubt about your own decision; and two, you are afraid of some situation or person. In either case, you will eventually find yourself vulnerable, incapable, and inferior. In the long run, you slowly will start losing your confidence, as a result.

Effects on mental health:
Our mental well-being fully depends on our self-concept, how we feel and think about our own self. If we feel healthy and positive about our own self, it gets easy for us to maintain mental fitness. If we fail to do so, then we may face difficulty maintaining a healthy mental well being. Your self-concept may be affected if you are continually failing to stand for yourself and experiencing inferiority, vulnerability, low self-esteem, low self-confidence. It will create fear and self-rejection within you. These reasons are responsible for almost all mental illnesses.

Be brave, stand up for yourself. Speak up or do something. If you are right, stand for yourself. If you have doubt, make some changes in your decisions. If you find obstacles on the road to making the right decisions, then simply find a creative and smarter way to get rid of them. Seek help, do whatever it takes. Think, there is always another way.
